Very First Post!!!

I don't even know why I've never thought of doing a blog about foster animals before. I didn't think it was an easy thing to start. I certainly have a lot to say, and a lot of animals to say it about. For now, I'll start by introducing my pets - the crew that's good enough to open their home up to these homeless furkids. I also have a few fosters at the moment as well and will introduce them so we will have a 'ground zero' to start from.

Dogs first:

Let's start with Miss Medusa. Medusa is 6.5 years old and an american bulldog. She's the veteran dog, having spent her entire life with me. Medusa's had a life full of reactions and health issues. She'll be the first to admit that she's actually not a fan of other animals. I make her world go round, according to her. If it was up to Medusa, the world would consist of just her and me with some pizza and coffee. She does a very good job with putting up with my passion though.

Princess Chimera is next. Chimera is now a 4 year old tail-less bundle of love. Chimera was taken from her former home where she lived in their backyard from the age of 5-6 weeks. These folks wanted a tough dog so they got a pitbull. They obviously didn't do their homework. They treated her terribly, kicked her, and tried to dock her tail with an elastic band. She was so broken and ill when she was first taken. Her tail couldn;t be saved and had to be amputated. Chimera's done this world well and loves everyone and every thing. She's as sweet as pie.

Next will come Bora but we'll save that story for later.

Cat time:
Garry Meadow Bubbles

Garry, Meadow and Bubbles line up for the kitty brigade. They each have different personalities and help test dogs with cats so we have that information for their next home. Garry, as you can probably see, is quite laid back - not much bothers nim. Meadow's an affectionale cat who likes company, and Bubbles is very mischevious and quite forceful.
Current fosters:

Phoenix has been with us for over a year and a half. She's come a long way. She was originally removed from her home as a cruelty case. I was asked if I would take her - she was in terrible shape, and we didn;t know if we could safe her. However, many months of hard work taught her to live in a house and those same months and lots of trips to her fabulous vet and she's now very healthy. Although I really love Phoenix and am attatched to her I do think she deserves her own home. However, if she doesn't find it, that's ok too. She's happy, and we love her.

Everyone loves Forrest. Why? Because he's a sweet pup, he's cute, and he doesn't live with them. Forrest is a challenge, I'll admit, but he's worth it. Forrest has some sort of brain disorder that isn't diagnosed yet. He's still developing. He was either born with it or he was injured early on in his life. His fate was supposed to be drowning but rescue stepped in and decided to give him a shot. He's been here with us since last November and he's taken over; Forrest is king. We're hoping King Forrest will be with us for a while to come.

Walter is a handsome dude who is looking for his forever home right now, actually. He came to us about a month ago and was scared and unsocialized. Although he very much wanted the attention of humans and to be loved, he was afraid to accept it. Walter's come a long way and he's very much a joy to have around. Walter's great with the other dogs and cats, he's the perfect lounging partner and if you don't smile when he looks up or jumps around for some lovings, there's something wrong. Walter's a ham. His adoption post is here:

Pugly Betty is just staying for a few days. I'm just fostering her short term until she makes her trip to her foster home with Dachshund Rescue of North America. She's a little sweet heart and is going to make someone a wonderful pet.
